Directly opposite Split – The island of Brac is the third largest island in the Adriatic.
Abounding in natural beauty, sandy and pebble beaches extending for km's Brac is also an island of picturesque towns and villages.
Brac has some quite specific features like the rock-bounded desert of Blaca – a hermit’s settlement in the southern part of the island.

One of the most readily identifiable features of Brac is undoubtedly the beach know as Zlatni Rat, located in Bol, at the foot of the foothills of Mt Vid. This is a strip of stand which is constantly being shifted and shaped by the force of the winds and the changing tides. It has become a symbol of Croatian tourism.
